November 2019 PlayStation Plus Free Games

I'm going to be early this time. The PlayStation Blog today announced next month's PlayStation Plus games and they're pretty good. Next month we're getting Nioh and Outlast 2. It was also announced today that Nioh 2 is coming to PlayStation 4 on March 13, 2020. Coincidence? Probably.

How much does that save you? Let's find out, shall we?

October 2019 PlayStation Plus Free Games:

  • Nioh | PS4 | $19.99
  • Outlast 2 | PS4 | $29.99
November Savings: $49.98
Year-to-Date Savings: $834.72

If for some reason you don't want to wait until November 5 to get Outlast 2 for free, you can get Outlast 2 on sale for $7.49 right now. The sale ends on November 1, 2019 at 8:00 am Pacific Time. You might as well wait until November 5 since you've already paid for PlayStation Plus though... but that's entirely up to you. I won't judge.

What do you think of November's lineup? Let me know in the comments below!

October 2019 PlayStation Plus Free Games

Better late than never, yeah? For some reason I thought it was the middle of October, but apparently today is October 24. I started an internship about a month ago. In case you're wondering, it has been a great experience and I do hope I get hired on as a full-time employee. I do apologize for my tardiness in updating my blog though. I'll try to be better about November's free games. They should be announcing them soon considering how close we are to October ending.

With all of that out of the way, let's talk about what's available for PlayStation Plus subscribers. Unless you absolutely rely on me to let you know what games are coming to PlayStation Plus subscribers, which is highly unlikely, you already know what games are free for the month of October. You're just here to read my write up, perhaps leave a comment, and subscribe to my YouTube channel despite my inconsistent upload schedule. Eh, probably not...

October 2019 PlayStation Plus Free Games:

  • The Last of Us Remastered | PS4 | $19.99
  • MLB The Show 19 | PS4 | $29.99
August Savings: $49.98
Year-to-Date Savings: $784.73

That's right. This month we get The Last of Us Remastered and MLB The Show 19. Two first party games from Sony. I've never played MLB The Show, but it seems pretty popular and stuff. The last baseball game I played was way back on the Sega Genesis. I don't remember what it was called, but I do remember having a bat that connected to the Sega Genesis.

As for The Last of Us Remastered, I love it. I loved it on PlayStation 3 and I love it even more on PlayStation 4 because there's an option to play it with a higher framerate. It's very hard to go back to 30fps when you've played TLOU Remastered in 60fps. It's silky smooth whether you play it on a base PS4 or a PS4 Pro.

What do you think of this month's list of free games? I think it's pretty good. Lemme know in the comments below. Or not...

September 2019 PlayStation Plus Free Games

It's September, so you know what that means: time to go back to school. But if you're a PlayStation Plus subscriber you also get two free games, which completely makes up for having to go back to school. Unless you don't go to school anymore, then I guess none of this applies to you. Yup...

I missed it by a day because I've been really lazy as of late updating my blog for some reason. But a day late is better than a month late, right? That hasn't been happening at all, ha ha. Nope.

Enough babbling though. You're here to find out how much money you can save this month with PlayStation Plus games... assuming you wanted any of these games to begin with or didn't have the two games that are free. Those two free games are Batman: Arkham Knight and Darksiders III. I've only played Batman: Arkham Knight, so I can vouch for that game and say it's a great game. I still think Arkham Asylum (not Arkham City) is the best game in the series, but there's a lot to love from Arkham Knight. The game is beautiful and the combat is still a lot of fun. Now here's how much you save this month:

September 2019 PlayStation Plus Free Games:

  • Batman: Arkham Knight | PS4 | $19.99
  • Darksiders III | PS4 | $59.99
August Savings: $79.98
Year-to-Date Savings: $734.75

Do you think we'll hit $1,000 in savings? I have my doubts, but we'll see. I don't mind being proved wrong.

August 2019 PlayStation Plus Free Games

Last month was a pretty great month for PlayStation Plus subscribers. It was a great month for me anyway. I have been wanting Detroit: Become Human and I missed the recent sale, so seeing that it was going to be free last month was pretty awesome. We continue onward with the second half of 2019 with two more games for PlayStation Plus subscribers. By the way, what do you think about the two game format? It's certainly been hit or miss since March. More misses than hits, but I don't think any of us are that surprised. Unfortunate, I know. Anyway, let's talk about what's coming this month.

August 2019 PlayStation Plus Free Games:

  • WipEout Omega Collection | PS4 | $19.99
  • Sniper Elite 4 | PS4 | $59.99
August Savings: $79.98
Year-to-Date Savings: $654.77

That's right. We're getting WipEout Omega Collection and Sniper Elite 4. I kind of played WipEout on PlayStation Vita and that's really all the experience I have from either game. What do you think of this month's games? Let me know in the comments section below!

July 2019 PlayStation Plus Free Games

If you're like me, you wait until the last minute to do something. Life is more exciting that way, isn't it? Okay... not really... I just got lazy and I'm finally getting around to write about July's free games for PlayStation Plus subscribers.

Originally, PS Plus subscribers were going to get Pro Evolution Soccer 2019, but for some reason that game was taken out of the lineup and has been replaced by a game called Detroit: Become Human. PlayStation isn't just giving PS Plus subscribers the standard edition though. If you have PlayStation Plus, you'll be getting the deluxe edition. I'm not sure if they're making up for not giving us Pro Evolution Soccer 2019, but if that's what it is, then thank you because no one wanted Pro Evolution Soccer 2019, but it's very nice of you to give us the deluxe edition of Detroit: Become Human. I almost bought Detroit: Become Human when it was on sale. Of course, I waited until the last minute and didn't get to buy it when it was less than $10. But hey, procrastination paid off this time because now I'm getting the game for free. Not only do you get Detroit: Become Human, you'll also get Heavy Rain bundled with it. That's awesome.

You're also getting Horizon Chase Turbo, but I know noting about it... Sorry >_>

For more information on July's lineup, go here.

July 2019 PlayStation Plus Free Games:

  • Detroit: Become Human Deluxe Edition (Heavy Rain included) | PS4 | $29.99
  • Horizon Chase Turbo | PS4 | $19.99
July Savings: $49.98
Year-to-Date Savings: $574.79

I think I've said enough in this post. What do you think about this month's lineup? Are you sad you won't be getting Pro Evolution Soccer 2019 for free? Let me know in the comments section below!

June 2019 PlayStation Plus Free Games

We (or me since I do this alone...) at whatever this blog is called. kirachem, I guess? That's more my username than anything else... anyway, I digress. Complaints are generally made whenever writing about the PlayStation Plus lineup—usually in jest, mind you. Do I have any complaints about June's lineup of free games? Yes, I do. I already have both of these games. On the other hand, I can vouch for both games and tell you they're both great games. I prefer one over the other, but that doesn't matter because for the month of June you're getting two fantastic games. Technically three when it comes down to it. Let's talk about the games you'll be getting as a PlayStation Plus subscriber.

June 2019 PlayStation Plus Free Games:

  • Borderlands: The Handsome Collection | PS4 | $59.99
  • Sonic Mania | PS4 | $19.99
June Savings: $79.98
Year to Date Savings: $524.81

Borderlands has had its fair share of appearances in the PlayStation Plus lineup. On PS3, both Borderlands and Borderlands 2 were free for PlayStation Plus subscribers. That's how I got into playing Borderlands. Borderlands: The Handsome Collection contains Borderlands 2 and Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel. While you'll have to get Borderlands Game of the Year Edition separately (it's been on sale at least two times already since coming to PS4 on April 3, 2019 and is currently on sale right now), you're getting two full games and their respective DLC. Also, if you own a PlayStation 4 Pro, you can download a free Ultra HD Texture Pack that improves textures for characters, vehicles, weapons, and environments.  Not bad. Moving on...

Sonic Mania is an amazing game and there's no excuse to not own it now. I'm so happy to see it in the PlayStation Plus lineup. While I've enjoyed recent Sonic games such as Sonic Colors and Sonic Generations, Sonic Mania is on a whole other level. It has that classic look and feel, but there's enough new content to keep it fresh. The music is phenomenal and I just love the design of the game. It's a beautiful looking game. I ended up buying the game on PS4 and Switch. Add it to your library once it becomes free.

Assuming you don't own either aforementioned game, you save $79.98—a decent amount of money. Despite already owning both games, I'm actually quite happy with the PS Plus lineup for June. What do you think of the free games you'll be getting in June? Let me know in the comments below!

May 2019 PlayStation Plus Free Games

Better late than never, I suppose. Can you believe we're 10 days into May already? I'm honestly surprised. Anyway, that's not what you're here for. You're here... well, I actually don't know if anyone is really reading what I post, so I'll just stop there.

May's free PlayStation Plus games have been up since Tuesday, May 7, 2019. You've had a few days to add these games to your library. If you haven't, then stick around to find out which games you get for free and how much you save (assuming you haven't purchased either game, let alone want either game... but if you're adding them to your library, then you are saving, right?) being a PlayStation Plus subscriber. As of March 2019, we've only been getting PS4 games. Let's find out which two PS4 games we get this month.

May 2019 PlayStation Plus Free Games:

  • Overcooked | PS4 | $16.99
  • What Remains of Edith Finch | PS4 | $19.99
May Savings: $36.98
Year to Date Savings: $444.83

You save a whopping $36.98 this month if you haven't gotten these games already. I personally don't know anything about either of these games, so I can't help you there. I'll definitely be adding them to my library though. Might as well, don'tcha think?
